I don’t have a lot of experience with fire strikers, but I can tell quality when I see it. Mike uses woods with exceptional grain patterns and a quality fire steel rod. He uses a 2-part epoxy to bond the handle and the steel. You can tell care was taken during the bonding process b/c there is little to no excess epoxy on the wood or the steel. Thanks Mike for a great piece of gear that I am sure to get MANY years of use from.

Um…this is a, uh…review of, um… my hammock sleep system as used on a 39 degree night. Needless to say, when I woke up at 4am and had to pee, I finished out the night in the living room. Overall, I am impressed with all of the components and would recommend them, just use them for the right conditions. I desperately need an underquilt to do any further winter hammock hanging. The bivy in combination with the hammock=awkward and difficult. I will post some other reviews of the individual components. Hope this helps someone who may have been considering any of these items.
